Reed Finance is exclusively partnering with a leading real estate investor and developer to recruit for them a dedicated Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract as a Property Accountant.

This is a crucial role in maintaining smooth accounting operations and providing financial, reporting, and business partnering support within the Finance Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely financial processes and compliance with local accounting standards and IFRS.

This role would suit a recently qualified Accountant who has trained in practice/audit and has accounts preparation experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review high-quality monthly management reporting packs and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Submit management accounts to Group monthly and complete Group reporting disclosures.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis and collaborate with stakeholders to provide meaningful commentary.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax reports including VAT and corporation tax, ensuring HMRC compliance.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and full-year financial reporting, liaising with auditors and responding to audit queries.
  • Ensure compliance with UK REIT regime requirements and oversee supplier payment authorizations.
  • Drive process improvements and robust financial controls across the company, ensuring adherence to SOPs.
  • Manage property and entity accounts for all assets under remit and assist the Finance Team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant (or equivalent) with up to 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and IFRS.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant financial experience in the real estate industry.
  • Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA)/Student Property experience will be highly regarded
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working with internal teams and external parties.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
