Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in young people’s lives? We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting this September, supporting children and young people who need a more personalised approach to learning.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Support students in an alternative provision environment, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, and barriers to mainstream education.
• Engage with students 1:1 and in small groups to build positive, trusting relationships.
• Support behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner.
• Assist with tailored learning activities designed to meet individual needs.
• Encourage emotional wellbeing and personal development among students.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A caring, nurturing, and patient approach to supporting young learners.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
• A positive and resilient mindset, capable of adapting to various educational needs.
• Passion for supporting the development and education of young people.
• English and Mathematics GCSE C grade or equivalent.
