Reed is supporting a well-established and growing business within the construction supply sector to recruit an Internal Sales Executive, based remotely from home, based in and around Somerset/Bristol area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business experiencing growth under a newly appointed Managing Director, offering a fast-paced, commercially focused environment where your ability to deliver transactional sales results will be key.
This is not a field sales or BDM role, it is a hands-on, desk-based sales position suited to someone who thrives on high-volume activity, speed, and accuracy.
Working arrangement
- Fully home-based (existing home office required)
- Candidates must be based in the Somerset / North Somerset / Bristol area
- Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Monthly team meetings and training sessions
- One visit per month to the Midlands-based depot
- Initial onboarding: 2–3 days per week on-site for the first 2 weeks (accommodation provided)
The role
Working remotely, you’ll manage a constant flow of inbound and outbound sales activity, taking ownership of enquiries from initial contact through to order.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling inbound calls, emails, and web enquiries throughout the day
- Producing accurate quotations within tight turnaround times (15–20 mins)
- Proactively chasing quotes and converting to orders
- Making outbound calls to existing, lapsed and new customers
- Processing orders and managing activity across CRM and Sage systems
- Coordinating with internal teams on stock, logistics and delivery
- Maintaining accurate customer records and system updates
This is a fast-moving, transactional role — success is driven by volume, responsiveness, accuracy and conversion, not long-term pipeline management or field sales.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in an internal / office-based sales role
- A strong background where sales has been your primary focus
- Experience within a product-based business (e.g. construction, plant hire, wholesale, manufacturing)
- Confidence managing call-heavy workloads, including cold calling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using CRM systems and sales platforms
This role is best suited to an Internal Sales, Account Manager, Hire Desk or Trade Counter professional, rather than someone looking for a field-based or strategic BDM position.
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 – £37,000 (depending on experience)
