The organisation is a Public Sector organisation in Stockport. They are looking for someone to join their Finance team on a 6 month basis initially offering the role on a term time basis. The role is an all-round Finance Assistant opportunity

Description

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

• Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school financial procedures
• Maintain financial records and update accounting systems
• Support budget monitoring by tracking departmental spend and flagging variances
• Assist with payroll administration, including timesheets and staff expense claims
• Handle cash, banking, and reconciliation of income (e.g. trip payments, meals, lettings)
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team and respond to staff/supplier queries

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

• Processed purchase orders, invoices and payments previously
• Excellent Financial Systems knowledge and pick systems up quickly
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A basic understanding of financial processes, including bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Good communication and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Job Offer

• Salary equivalent of £25,500 FTE paid on an hourly rate basis
• 6 months interim role
• Term time only
• Free parking
• 4pm finish
