Temporary School Caretaker (Full-Time)
Location: Sunderland
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary until end of July
Hours: Full-time (shift rotation)

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Temporary School Caretaker to join our site team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support the smooth running of a school environment during a busy period.

Working HoursThis role operates on a rotating shift pattern:

• 6:00am - 2:00pm (2 weeks)
• 11:00am - 7:00pm (2 weeks)

There may be some flexibility with hours for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing school buildings and grounds
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school site is clean, safe, and well-presented
• Supporting health & safety checks and compliance
• Assisting with deliveries and setting up rooms for school activities/events
• Liaising with contractors where required

Requirements

• Previous caretaker, maintenance, or facilities experience is desirable
• A proactive, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential
