The Supported Living Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to individuals living independently within supported living environments. This role ensures that service users receive safe, effective, and compassionate support that promotes dignity, independence, and overall wellbeing.

The postholder coordinates care packages tailored to each individual’s needs, working closely with care staff, families, local authorities, and healthcare professionals. They are responsible for assessing service user requirements, developing and reviewing support plans, and ensuring that all care provision aligns with regulatory standards, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

A key aspect of the role involves staff supervision and support. The Supported Living Coordinator provides guidance, training, and performance monitoring to care workers, ensuring that best practices are consistently followed. They are also responsible for rota management, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet service user needs while maintaining efficiency.

The role requires strong safeguarding awareness. The coordinator must identify, report, and respond to any concerns regarding the safety or wellbeing of service users, following internal procedures and legal requirements. Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records is essential, including care documentation, incident reports, and compliance logs.

The Supported Living Coordinator also plays a vital role in quality assurance. This includes conducting regular audits, monitoring service delivery, and implementing improvements where necessary. They must ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to and contribute to continuous service development.

Effective communication is central to the role. The coordinator acts as a key point of contact for service users, families, and external professionals, ensuring clear, professional, and empathetic interactions.
