  • Pay Rate: £500 - 525 per week
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Contract: Monday - Friday, long-term temporary

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

Long Term Futures are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive infant school in Bournville, Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive Key Stage 1 environment, providing tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with complex additional needs as they continue their transition into Year 2.

The Role:

  • Supporting a pupil with communication difficulties, including interpreting non-verbal communication
  • Assisting with emotional regulation using visual timetables, sensory strategies and structured routines
  • Supporting behaviour management through positive reinforcement and consistent boundaries
  • Providing personal care support where required
  • Helping the pupil transition between activities and classroom environments
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt activities and monitor progress

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience working within a Primary or SEN school
  • Confident supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Experience or understanding of ASD, SEMH, SLCN and additional needs
  • Knowledge of sensory regulation and therapeutic support strategies
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and adapting learning across different age groups
  • Holds a TA qualification or relevant degree
  • Calm, patient, and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team
