What does our company do and why are we hiring?
We're a boutique sized executive recruitment company, working with senior level job seekers and hiring leaders scattered all over the world. We're well organised, and have invested in tech and systems to ensure the work we do is consistently great, and as efficient as possible given the many time zones we cover.
We now need to replace the valued colleague who has historically managed all of our administration, book-keeping and research support. This is an incredibly varied role, with significant responsibilities. The nature of our work means we're constantly working to deadlines, typically with competing priorities, so you'll need to be comfortable with a lot of pressure daily.
What might a day look like in this job?
- generating a small number of invoices plus processing and paying bills, all via Xero
- working with job seekers and hiring leaders in differing time-zones, to find suitable matches for interviews and potentially organising hotels and transport for job seekers travelling to an interview
- using online tools to find and contact professionals who might be a match to an executive job vacancy
- applying your Microsoft Office skills to create reports and proposals
- reviewing suppliers and negotiating pricing terms
- preparing the monthly payroll along with processing monthly HMRC, VAT and pension payments
- speaking with job seeking leaders to share market advice
- updating website content and posting to social media accounts
- and working through the latest of our infrastructure and service delivery improvement projects.
This is a 100% remote work arrangement, where we supply all the equipment and licences you need, but given the confidentiality of data you'll be managing, you will need to have a secure home office already setup. The team do meet once a month to work a day together, typically in east or central London so you'll need to have access to train/bus transport.
What will help you for success here?
- You'll be the kind of person who can happily meet a dozen conflicting work deadlines despite the washing machine breaking down and an unexpectedly sick child at home
- Your attention in proof reading and presentation layouts will be renowned plus your verbal and written English skills will be advanced
- You'll be open to learning new technologies inclusive of AI, happy to work within tested templates and process, but comfortable proposing new ideas to save costs/save time/increase efficiency
- You'll be a brand ambassador - in our business our reputation depends on meeting promises and delivering exceptionally strong customer experience, every time
- You'll have high levels of curiosity, emotional intelligence and empathy, plus an abundance of common sense
- Finally, you'll need to be an ethical human being. We're a team of adults, who trust each other to get on with the jobs needed, without fuss or excuses. We also happen to like each other, so when we do get together, its a lovely social event
Employment arrangement?
This is a permanent employment contract, that can be offered as a 4 or 5 day working week, with flexibility around hours. We can accomodate an immediate start date but are also able to respect any notice period you may have with your current employer.
