Immediate start | Contract until at least July (with potential extension)

Pay rate:

  • £27.14 per hour (PAYE)
  • £35.52 per hour (Umbrella)

A London EC2–based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to support a critical ER project on an initial contract until at least July, with the possibility of extension. This is a full-time, hybrid role working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ER Project Lead on the Right to Review (Appeal) process
  • Support strategic initiative aimed at implementing flexible, sustainable, fair, equitable, and transparent reward and recognition opportunities for employees
  • Review incoming appeals and assess eligibility against appeal criteria
  • Arrange and coordinate appeal hearings, including:
    • Scheduling meetings
    • Managing and collating all documentation
    • Supporting the appeal panel
  • Draft and issue outcome letters to employees
  • Act as the first point of contact for advice on the Right to Review process
  • Maintain a comprehensive appeal case log to support case tracking and management
  • Support HR colleagues in understanding the Hay Job Evaluation process
  • Provide support on additional ER casework linked to the project, including grievances, where required

Experience Required

  • Proven experience dealing with employees at all levels, including senior managers
  • Strong working knowledge of the Hay job evaluation process
  • Experience building effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with Trade Unions
  • Demonstrated success delivering HR generalist/ER work in a large, multi-disciplined organisation
