Commercial Property Solicitor / Legal Executive

Join our client, a team of dedicated legal professionals providing expert support and advice to schools and Trusts. They are committed to delivering friendly, professional, and pragmatic support. They are currently seeking a highly motivated Property Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team in Devon. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and progress your career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage your own caseload under supervision, as appropriate.
  • Support the team in individual transactions and as part of wider project teams.
  • Handle tasks including opening case files, giving cost estimates to new clients, and recording time in accordance with the firm’s policy.
  • Conduct title reviews, draft and negotiate leases and transfers.
  • Obtain and report on title information from the Land Registry and deal with Land Registry requisitions.
  • Assist in managing both commercial property matters and residential conveyancing transactions.
  • Obtain and report on property searches, attend meetings, make notes, and prepare SDLT forms.
  • Promote the firm’s vision and values when interacting with clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge through relevant publications and training.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification (qualified as a solicitor or a legal executive) or directly related work experience.
  • Experience in organising workloads to achieve priorities and objectives.
  • Good knowledge of property processes and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a solution-focused approach to work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop successful working relationships.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good IT skills.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and independently.
  • Commitment to promoting the ethos and values of PHP Law, including high standards in relation to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
