Assistant Management Accountant - Excellent opportunity

My client renowned a renowned multinational conglomerate committed to innovation and technology are looking for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a business that promotes growth and progression. It would suit someone who has gained some initial experience in Accounts Payable and is keen to take that next step into an all-round Finance position and study for a professional qualification.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month end journals and assist in reconciling the balance sheet.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Monthly VAT returns.
  • Tracking approval of invoices, purchase orders and expense claims ensuring nominal codes are correct.
  • Processing of purchase orders and invoices to make sure costs are recorded in the correct period.
  • Planning and carrying out regular payment runs.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of petty cash in all departments and preparing monthly petty cash reconciliations and journals.
  • Checking, processing and paying employee expense claims.
  • Ensuring all accounts payable activities are carried out in line with relevant company policy.
  • Maintaining a close relationship with suppliers and departments to ensure all invoices are processed and paid on time, queries resolved quickly, and any delays notified.
  • Ad hoc analysis requirements from senior finance team members.

Person

  • Professional pride and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Sound computer literacy (knowledge of using spreadsheets, Microsoft Word and Outlook) and familiar with accounting software.
  • Is flexible, enthusiastic, motivated, a good time manager and proven team player with the confidence and skills to suggest solutions.
  • Is prepared as a team player, to undertake all necessary tasks to ensure work is delivered to agreed standard and deadlines.
  • Professional appearance and a pleasant and friendly manner.
  • Excellent English both verbal and written.
  • Candidates will be required to complete a professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA or CIMA).

Benefits:

  • Salary on offer - £28,000-£32,000 per annum + full study support and a 10% bonus paid yearly.
  • Hours of work: 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday - Hybrid working available - 2 days a week WFH.
