As a Senior Construction Underwriter, you will play a key role in driving new business, shaping underwriting strategy, and contributing to the growth of an ambitious and developing underwriting function within Latent Defect Insurance and Structural Warranty Insurance.

Responsibilities of the Senior Construction Underwriter:

• Drive new business growth as a trading underwriter, focusing on construction clients within Latent Defect Insurance and Structural Warranty Insurance.
• Build and manage strong relationships with brokers, developers and key stakeholders to generate opportunities.
• Support the development of underwriting strategy, guidelines and pricing approaches.
• Identify new market opportunities and contribute to portfolio growth.
• Ensure underwriting activity meets regulatory and compliance standards.
• Monitor performance and support ongoing optimisation of the portfolio.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure a joined-up and effective approach.

What we are looking for:

• Experience in a trading underwriting role with a strong new business focus.
• Background in trading underwriting within construction or property insurance, ideally within Latent Defect Insurance or Structural Warranty Insurance.
• Strong technical underwriting and risk assessment knowledge.
• Proven ability to build broker relationships and win new business.
• Commercial mindset with a proactive, driven approach.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
• ACII or similar qualifications are desirable.
