Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and professional School Administrator to join our welcoming and inclusive primary school community. This is a full-time (37 hours per week), temp-to-perm opportunity starting in September, with some availability required prior to the summer term for a structured handover.

Working hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. This is a full-year contract, with annual leave to be taken during school holiday periods.

This is a key, standalone role within the school office. The successful candidate will be the sole administrative lead, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the office alongside oversight of HR administration, premises coordination, and school finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

School Office Leadership

  • Act as the sole member of the school office, taking full ownership of administrative operations
  • Manage and prioritise all office functions efficiently, ensuring the school runs smoothly on a daily basis
  • Serve as the first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies, providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the senior leadership team and wider staff
  • Maintain accurate pupil records, attendance data and statutory documentation
  • Manage correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries effectively
  • Coordinate school events, trips, visits and communications

HR Administration

  • Lead on day-to-day HR administration, including personnel records, recruitment coordination, onboarding processes and absence tracking
  • Ensure staff records are accurate, up to date and compliant with safeguarding and employment requirements

Finance Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee school finance processes, including purchase orders, invoicing, budget tracking and reconciliation
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure financial procedures are followed accurately

Premises & Site Coordination

  • Act as the administrative lead for premises and facilities coordination, liaising with site staff and contractors
  • Support health & safety processes, maintenance scheduling and compliance documentation

Communication & Relationships

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, parents and stakeholders
  • Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment aligned with the school’s values

Compliance & Systems

  • Ensure systems are maintained in line with school policies, safeguarding and GDPR requirements
  • Support data management, reporting and internal systems
  • Assist in implementing school procedures and policies
