£20–£35 per hour PAYE

Flexible Part-Time / Full-Time

Monday–Friday availability required (9am–4pm)

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting compassionate and experienced SEN Tutors to support children and young people aged 5–25 across Southwark.

This is a rewarding 1:1 outreach tutoring role supporting learners with additional needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, Dyslexia, anxiety, and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA).

Learners may require support with:

  • Primary learning
  • KS3 and KS4 curriculum
  • GCSE preparation
  • Functional Skills English and Maths
  • Re-engagement with education
  • Confidence and emotional development

Sessions take place within homes, libraries, community settings, and other suitable learning environments.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging 1:1 personalised tuition
  • Adapt learning to individual needs and EHCP outcomes
  • Support learners with SEN / SEND and complex needs
  • Build positive and consistent relationships
  • Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills support where appropriate
  • Complete progress reports and session feedback
  • Work collaboratively with families and professionals
  • Use trauma-informed and nurture-based approaches
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN / SEND
  • Background in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, TA, HLTA, or education support preferred
  • Good understanding of the UK National Curriculum
  • Confident supporting GCSE and/or Functional Skills learning
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work independently in community settings
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
