Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Aberdeen
Salary: £50,000 + £4,200 Car Allowance + Commission (up to 5% GP)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

We are currently working closely with a key client within the logistics and supply chain sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to support their continued growth.

This is a new business-focused role (circa 90% hunting), where success will be measured by your ability to win new logos, generate revenue, and expand market share across general cargo import/export services.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across key sectors including Energy, Engineering, Aquaculture, and Farming
• Generate leads through outbound activity including cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and networking
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to contract close
• Build and manage a strong pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets
• Conduct client meetings (face-to-face and virtual) - minimum of 4 per week
• Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and tailored transport solutions
• Maintain accurate CRM records, including pipeline activity and visit reporting
• Collaborate with internal teams including Operations and Commercial for smooth handover post-sale
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to maintain competitive positioning

About You

• Proven experience in a Business Development / Sales role within freight forwarding or logistics
• Strong hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business
• Experience working with clients in energy, engineering, or industrial sectors
• Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and closing skills
• Confident communicator with strong presentation abilities
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
• Experience using CRM systems and managing a high-activity sales pipeline
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel
