Futures are looking to appoint a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client, a well known manufacturing business The successful Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive individual with strong fault-finding capabilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship both in-house and on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, build, and test hydraulic systems and components in-house, including hydraulic power units (HPUs), manifolds, and cylinders.
  • Install and commission mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis on hydraulic and mechanical systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Perform both reactive breakdown maintenance and planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Conduct off-site service, maintenance, and installation work at customer locations.
  • Travel to customer sites as required, including occasional overseas assignments.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards and company procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible approach to travel, including occasional international work.
