Are you an experienced Company Secretary looking for a role where you can truly influence governance at a strategic level?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, internationally operating organisation where you’ll work closely with senior leadership, supporting multiple businesses across the UK and overseas. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping governance standards, supporting the Board, and ensuring the smooth running of a complex, multi-entity structure.
The Opportunity
In this varied and visible role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior stakeholders, taking ownership of corporate governance, compliance, and company secretarial activities across an international group.
You’ll enjoy a high level of autonomy, exposure to strategic decision-making, and the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading corporate governance and ensuring compliance with legislation (including Companies Act 2006)
- Supporting and attending board meetings and AGMs (agendas, packs, minutes, actions)
- Managing statutory registers and Companies House filings
- Handling shareholder communications and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Overseeing insurance processes, renewals, and broker relationships
- Coordinating banking relationships and funding activities
- Providing guidance on legal and regulatory matters (with external advisors where needed)
- Supporting risk management, compliance frameworks, and audit processes
- Assisting with tax matters and HMRC enquiries
- Coordinating intercompany transactions and group policies
- Supporting remuneration and benefits processes
About You
You’ll be a detail-driven and commercially aware professional who is confident working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory requirements
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Able to operate both strategically and hands-on
- Professional, discreet, and able to handle confidential information
- A collaborative and proactive team player
Desirable:
- ACCA, CIMA, AAT or similar qualification
- Experience in the role
