Planning Assistant / Administrator

Actio Recruitment are working with a precision engineering company in Exhall who are looking to appoint a Planning Assistant / Administrator to support their production and operations teams. This is a temp-to-perm role offering long-term stability and variety for someone who enjoys a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

You will play a key part in keeping production, materials and logistics running smoothly. Daily responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring production activity and checking progress against planned schedules
• Flagging delays, shortages or potential bottlenecks to the senior team
• Assisting with purchasing tasks and supporting the Buyer with material requirements
• Tracking supplier deliveries and ensuring materials are available when needed
• Helping maintain accurate stock records and supporting goods-in, goods-out and internal stock movements
• Coordinating customer shipments, including packing, dispatch and documentation
• Monitoring delivery performance and stock levels
• Ordering consumables such as stationery, PPE and cleaning supplies
• Setting up calendar reminders and supporting general factory administration
• Contributing ideas to improve processes and efficiency

About You

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or production office environment is beneficial
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
• Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach
• Reliable, adaptable and keen to learn
