We are working with an award-winning, values-driven organisation that supports innovators across the UK. They are seeking an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager to join their friendly and mission-led finance team, supporting two entities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified QBE Accountant who enjoys owning the detail, working closely with stakeholders, and contributing to an organisation where finance genuinely enables positive social change.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring accurate and effective financial operations across the group. You will lead the month-end process, prepare management accounts, support budgeting and audit activities, and provide insightful financial support to operational teams.

You will also line manage an Accounts Assistant and work closely with senior finance leadership, including exposure to varied and interesting areas such as real estate, M&A, financial services and the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end process, including balance sheet reconciliations and journals
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts
  • Maintain and report on monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Line manage and develop the Accounts Assistant
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany invoices and balances
  • Support the year-end close, audit process and group consolidation
  • Prepare annual budgets and contribute to 5-year financial plans
  • Attend operational meetings and provide financial insight and credit control support
  • Maintain project trackers for grants and contracts, supporting claims and budgeting
  • Support the Group CFO with board packs, consolidated reporting and ad-hoc analysis
  • Review monthly payroll reports and prepare payroll and pension journals
  • Identify and implement process and systems improvements

About You

  • Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA or CIMA
    (AAT Level 4 with strong experience will also be considered)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your work
  • Experience managing or mentoring others
  • Motivated by working in a purpose-led organisation and making a difference
