Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) - Speech & Language Specialism | Northampton | Immediate & September Starts

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking skilled and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) with a specialism in speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) to support a range of SEND schools across Northampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within dedicated specialist provisions, supporting pupils with high-functioning autism, speech and communication difficulties, and associated needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and develop vital communication and social skills.

We have a number of short-term roles available immediately, as well as longer-term opportunities starting from September, offering flexibility to suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
• Support the delivery of tailored learning activities under teacher guidance
• Implement and model effective communication strategies
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and social interaction
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience supporting children or young people with high-functioning autism and speech & communication needs
• Familiarity with communication methods such as Makaton, BSL, PECS, AAC or similar
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Experience in a school or specialist setting is highly desirable, though candidates with relevant care or support backgrounds will also be considered.
