The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially minded and proactive Commercial Manager / Buyer to join a well-established and growing organisation within the foodservice sector.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll take ownership of supplier relationships, product sourcing, commercial performance, and promotional activity—playing a key part in driving business growth and enhancing product offerings.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building and managing strong relationships with suppliers, including negotiating competitive terms
  • Sourcing new and innovative products aligned with market trends and customer needs
  • Leading the development of own-label product ranges
  • Analysing sales performance to identify opportunities for growth and margin improvement
  • Managing and executing promotional activity to drive sales
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date pricing
  • Coordinating marketing activity and producing regular communications
  • Attending buying meetings and contributing to commercial strategy
  • Visiting suppliers and customers to strengthen partnerships (approx. 25% travel)
  • Ensuring product quality through sampling and supplier collaboration


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Buyer or Commercial role, ideally within foodservice
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to interpret and act on sales data
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • Experience within the foodservice sector (3+ years preferred)
  • Experience managing own-label or private label products
