We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced External Academic Board Member to join our dynamic team—an exciting opportunity to influence the education sector and support strategic development in a collaborative environment.

Hours of Work: part time

As an External Academic Board Member, you will play a vital role in providing independent oversight and strategic challenge to our governance processes. You will attend key meetings, scrutinise documentation, and offer expert advice on quality assurance, academic standards, and regulatory compliance to ensure continuous enhancement of our programmes and student experience.

External Academic Board Member Duties include attending three Academic Board meetings annually, providing constructive academic scrutiny, reviewing relevant documentation, advising on quality assurance and regulatory expectations, offering external insights on risk and enhancement, and producing an annual report with observations, risks, and recommendations. Your strategic input will help shape policy, maintain standards, and foster innovation within our organisation.

External Academic Board Member Requirements:

• Senior experience within UK higher education, including academic leadership or quality assurance roles
• A strong understanding of academic standards, assessment processes, and student-centred learning principles
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and insightful reports
• Ability to think independently and provide constructive challenge confidently
• Experience in international education, partnership provision, or OfS regulatory compliance (desirable but not essential)
