Buyer - Up to £40,000 Per Annum - Kirkby in Ashfield
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm

Macildowie Procurement has partnered with a well-established manufacturing organisation based in Kirkby in Ashfield to recruit a Buyer.

The key objective is to work closely with the wider procurement function, operating in a transactional and reactive environment, carrying out duties such as raising PO's, on-boarding new suppliers and ensuring that suppliers are compliant.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure stock availability aligns with the production schedule.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Assist in future demand planning based on seasonal activities.
• Provide input on projected inventory and availability levels, raising alerts for potential issues.
• Ensure accurate visibility on planned product arrivals for assigned SKUs.
• Manage and conduct tendering processes.
• Prepare and maintain stock reports.
• Raise routine purchase orders for production stock and ad hoc requirements, focusing on best quality, price, and delivery.
• Administer inbound deliveries and organise inbound transport as needed.
• Monitor and expedite order deliveries, reporting any supplier delivery issues.
• Maintain and optimise the purchasing relationship with suppliers, ensuring materials meet specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

The Candidate

• Degree level qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a Material Planning or Procurement focused position.
• Able to travel to Kirkby in Ashfield.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient Microsoft Office user including Excel.
