Ocean Export Freight Forwarding Clerk

Location: Liverpool, Office Based
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000

We are currently working in partnership with a well established freight forwarder who have an exciting opportunity to join their team as experienced Export Clerk Freight Forwarding Clerk.

This role is ideal for a confident, detail-driven export professional who thrives in a fast-paced, office-based environment and comes from a freight forwarding background (rather than a shipping line).

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in managing end-to-end export documentation and operational requirements, ensuring shipments move smoothly, compliantly, and on time. This is a hands-on position where your expertise will be relied upon from day one.

Key Responsibilities

You will confidently handle all export documentation and processes, including but not limited to:

• Certificates of Origin
• Export customs entries
• Calculating and managing rates
• Making export bookings
• Export invoicing
• Liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure accuracy and compliance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in an export clerk or similar role
• Solid experience within freight forwarding
• Strong knowledge of export documentation and customs procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Confidence working independently in a busy office environment
