In-House Costing Draftsperson (Family Department) Bath Full-time | Hybrid Permanent We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented In-House Costing Draftsperson to join a busy and supportive Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who is looking to build a career within the legal sector, particularly in legal costs and Legal Aid billing. The Role You will play a key role in supporting the Costing team with Legal Aid billing processes and ensuring the smooth running of the department. This position involves a combination of legal costing work and administrative support, helping the team meet deadlines and maintain high standards of compliance. Key Responsibilities
Preparing and submitting Legal Aid claims, including payments on account and final bills
Assisting with the preparation of bills for assessment and payment
Liaising with internal teams regarding costs-related queries
Reviewing and checking bills from external costs draftspeople
Supporting the preparation of files for detailed assessment
Managing general administrative tasks including filing, data entry, archiving, and document preparation
Handling telephone enquiries and directing messages appropriately
Supporting business development and marketing activities where required
Team Collaboration
Work closely with colleagues to ensure work is completed efficiently
Support fee earners and team members with costing and billing matters
Assist in maintaining high standards of service and compliance
About You
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths)
Previous experience in administrative duties (filing, scanning, data entry, etc.)
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Confident communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships
Proactive, flexible, and open to learning new ways of working
A team player with a positive and supportive attitude
