The Legal Cashier duties involve: -

• Daily bank reconciliations and month end.
• Posting transactions, journal transfers and credits.
• Post and set up completions.
• Petty Cash duties.
• Bank account verification checks.
• Checking completion statements and invoices.
• Logging SDLT payments within set time frame.
• Credit control by letter, email and telephone.
• Investigating and reporting on dormant balances.
• Dealing with telephone queries from colleagues and clients.
• Ensuring land registry is posted and checked daily.
• Ensuring compliance fees are posted, checked and transferred.
• Running reports within LEAP.
• Setting up payments, monitoring daily credits and debits, allocating to correct ledgers.
• Dealing with cheques or cash received and banking.

What you will need for the Legal Cashier role: -

• Previous experience in a similar Legal Cashier Accounting role
• Knowledge of the conveyancing process, sales/purchases, re-mortgages and probate accounts
• Knowledge and understanding of the CLC and SRA Accounts code/rules
• Confidentiality and professional communication skills
• Strong eye for detail and accuracy
