HR Advisor

Macildowie Recruitment and Retention

HR Advisor (FTC – Initially 6 months)

Up to £35,000 DOE | Onsite | North Leicester | Immediate Start

Macildowie are working with a well-established engineering business to recruit an HR Advisor on a fixed-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a hands-on, varied HR role within a supportive environment.

This role has come about due to maternity cover within a small HR team, so they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and provide day-to-day HR support during a busy period.

The Role

This is a generalist HR position with a strong focus on coordination, administration and employee support, rather than heavy ER.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing the employee lifecycle (starters, leavers, contracts, changes)
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding activity
  • Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries
  • Supporting with low-level ER (absence, basic disciplinaries)
  • Assisting with HR projects and process improvements
  • Working closely with managers across the business

You’ll have support from an external HR consultant for more complex ER, so this is a great opportunity to build on your experience without being overly exposed to high-risk casework.

About You

We’re open on level, but this role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience within a HR Admin / HR Coordinator / Junior Advisor role
  • Is confident managing day-to-day HR activity independently
  • Has exposure to low-level ER processes
  • Is organised, proactive and able to manage a busy workload
  • Enjoys building relationships across a business

CIPD qualification is not essential – experience is key.

The Package

  • Salary up to £35,000
  • 6-month FTC (flexible for the right candidate – 6–12 months considered)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Option to buy/sell annual leave
  • Corporate gym membership
  • Westfield Health (including private GP access)
  • On-site parking

There is also the potential for a completion bonus (up to 5%) for seeing the contract through.

Working Pattern

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexible start/finish between 7:30am – 5:30pm
  • Predominantly onsite role (some flexibility may be considered for the right person)

Why Apply?

  • Great opportunity to gain broad HR experience in a supportive environment
  • Exposure to both operational HR and project work
  • Ideal step up into a more autonomous HR role
  • Immediate requirement – quick interview process

If you’re immediately available or coming to the end of a contract and looking for your next opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.
