Finance Systems Assistant

Robert Half are delighted to be supporting an established organisation with complex financial systems, looking to appoint a Finance Systems Assistant to join its finance function. This role would suit a detail-focused finance professional with strong systems awareness who enjoys working with data, reporting, and process improvement.

The role

Working as part of the wider finance team, you will support the delivery and development of financial reporting across a range of systems. You will help ensure accurate, timely data is available to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, while also contributing to ongoing improvements in reporting quality, automation, and system performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing and maintaining routine financial reports and management information
• Supporting and administering finance and reporting systems, including ERP and BI platforms
• Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Developing and enhancing reports, dashboards, and data models using tools such as Power BI and SQL
• Working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective solutions
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual reporting activities
• Providing ad-hoc reporting and systems support to the financial control team

About you

You will bring a strong mix of finance knowledge and systems capability, with the confidence to work across data, reporting, and technical problem-solving.

You are likely to have:

• Experience using reporting or BI tools (e.g. Power BI, SQL, financial reporting systems)
• An AAT qualification (or currently studying)
• A solid understanding of core accounting principles
• Good Excel skills and a logical, analytical approach to data
• Strong attention to detail and a continuous-improvement mindset
• The ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance colleagues
