We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join a busy finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and fast-paced organisation, supporting the Payroll Manager with the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls across the business.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Calculating overtime, wage adjustments, and additional payments
  • Managing payroll queries and inboxes efficiently
  • Running payroll reports and supporting monthly management accounts
  • Maintaining the Time & Attendance system
  • Assisting with the implementation of a new Sage Payroll system
  • Supporting the creation and documentation of payroll processes
  • Providing general payroll administration support as required

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous payroll experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll
  • A good understanding of payroll legislation, tax, and NI regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines

Experience within bookkeeping or accountancy would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break. Some flexibility may occasionally be required to meet business needs.
