Day-to-day of the role:

  • Trusts and Foundations Fundraising:

    • Lead the identification, research, and securing of funding from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources.
    • Develop high-quality, persuasive funding applications, including larger and multi-year bids.
    • Manage and maintain a robust pipeline of funding opportunities.
    • Lead on reporting, monitoring, and reapplications.
    • Build and steward long-term relationships with funders.
    • Work closely with service teams to develop clear, evidence-based cases for support.
  • Strategy and Income Growth:

    • Contribute to and support the delivery of the fundraising strategy.
    • Identify opportunities to increase income and strengthen long-term sustainability.
    • Monitor performance against income targets and adjust plans where needed.
    • Provide clear and accurate reporting to the CEO and Board.
  • Wider Contribution:

    • Contribute to broader fundraising activity where appropriate.
    • Represent the organisation externally with professionalism and credibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Direct experience securing funding from trusts and foundations
  • Demonstrable track record of securing five-figure grants and ideally multi-year funding.
  • Experience managing the full funding cycle, from prospect research through to reporting and stewardship.
  • Experience managing a pipeline of multiple funders and deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and tailored proposals.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Confidence engaging with funders and representing an organisation externally.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of supporting disadvantaged communities.
