The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Hastings this September. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to creating positive learning experiences for pupils with additional needs and who thrives in a collaborative and nurturing environment.

The role involves supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism spectrum conditions, SEMH needs, communication difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Main Duties

  • Deliver personalised and engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and life skills
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents/carers
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of abilities and learning styles
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessments, and pupil progress tracking
  • Foster a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has experience working with pupils with SEN, either in mainstream or specialist settings
  • Demonstrates creativity, flexibility, and strong classroom practice
  • Understands trauma-informed and inclusive approaches to education
  • Builds positive and professional relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Is passionate about helping every learner succeed
