Senior Responsible Individual (RI) – Audit

Full-Time | Central London

A well-established and growing ACCA-registered audit practice is seeking an experienced Senior Responsible Individual (RI) to join its leadership team on a full-time basis.

This is a senior appointment for a technically strong audit professional with proven experience of signing large, complex audit engagements, leading teams, and working closely with firm owners and shareholders.

The Role

• Act as Audit Signing Partner / Responsible Individual for a diverse portfolio of audit clients
• Lead, manage, and develop a team of approximately 15 audit professionals
• Report directly to the shareholders/partners of the firm
• Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality audits in line with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards
• Take ownership of audit quality, including hot and cold file reviews
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, including ACCA, and oversee quality inspection visits
• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, providing strategic and commercially focused advice
• Collaborate with other senior stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions to clients
• Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and identifying opportunities for growth
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Contribute to firm-wide strategy and the continued growth of the practice

Key Requirements

• ACCA qualified with 10+ years’ experience as a Responsible Individual
• Strong technical expertise in UK GAAP / FRS 102, IFRS, and UK auditing standards
• Proven track record of signing off large and complex audits
• Experience managing a substantial audit client portfolio
• Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commercially aware, with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
• Able to remain calm, controlled, and effective under pressure and deadlines
• Strategic, solutions-driven mindset with a hands-on approach
