Freight Forwarder

Location: Liverpool

Salary £32,000 - £37,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00

Our client is a well-established, family-run logistics business with a long-standing reputation in freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution. They are seeking a passionate and driven Freight Forwarder to join their growing team. Key role responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations across import and export shipments
• Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth and timely movement of goods
• Prepare, check, and process all required shipping and customs documentation accurately
• Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates to customers and stakeholders
• Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or delays as they arise
• Ensure full compliance with relevant transport, customs, and trade regulations
• Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions
• Maintain accurate records across all shipments, including tracking, billing, and documentation
• Deliver a high standard of customer service, responding promptly to queries and requests
• Experience across both import and export freight operations

Job skills required:

• Freight forwarding experience minimum 2 years' experience
• Someone who can take ownership and see the job through from start to finish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to problem-solve quickly and make effective decisions under pressure
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Highly driven, self-motivated, and committed to achieving results

Package & Benefits:

• Salary £32,000-£37,000 DOE
• 6% company pension scheme
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
