An established firm of chartered accountants in Sheffield is looking to appoint a Bookkeeper to support a varied client portfolio.

This is a part time position suited to someone comfortable managing day-to-day transactional finance and VAT compliance across multiple clients.

The role

• Maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients
• Process invoices, receipts and payments
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Liaise directly with clients to gather information and respond to queries
• Use cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks

What they are looking for

• Bookkeeping experience within practice or multi-client environment
• Strong working knowledge of VAT returns
• Confident using Xero and other accounting software
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage workload independently
• Comfortable dealing with clients directly
