Location: Chaldon, Surrey (Near Caterham)

Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 (M1 - UPS1 Fringe)

Bonus:£5,000 Welcome Bonus (For Qualified Teachers)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

Are you a passionate educator who believes that every child deserves a bespoke learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our brand-new, specialist SEND secondary school during an exciting phase of growth.

Having opened its doors in September 2025, our school provides a sanctuary for young people (ages 11-16) who require specialised support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism.

The Role

As a Nurture Teacher, you won't just deliver a curriculum; you will create a bridge to learning for students who have previously struggled in mainstream settings. You will work within a therapeutic, multi-disciplinary framework to ensure students feel safe, understood, and challenged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tailored Delivery: Adapt the National Curriculum to meet the unique sensory and emotional profiles of your students.

  • Collaborative Practice: Work alongside an expert team of therapists and support staff to provide a 360-degree approach to student development.

  • Target Setting: Monitor and review personalised targets (EHCPs) that focus on both academic success and emotional resilience.

  • Environment Management: Maintain a calm, non-confrontational classroom atmosphere, utilising positive behaviour support strategies.

Working Hours
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:15am - 4:45pm

  • Tuesday: 8:15am - 5:00pm (Staff development/meetings)

  • Friday: 8:15am - 4:00pm

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Proven experience working within a SEND or specialist setting (specifically with ASC/SEMH).

  • A "non-confrontational" mindset and a deep understanding of how Autism impacts learning and behaviour.

  • The flexibility to work at our main site in Chaldon and our satellite site in Caterham when required.

Why Join Us?

This is a rare chance to be a "founding" member of a school community. We offer small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios, and a supernumerary intervention team to ensure you are supported every step of the way.
