Residential Conveyancer Solicitor

Magpie Recruitment

Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive)

Location: Farnborough – office-based / hybrid

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000

Type: Full-time, permanent

PQE: 3+ years

About the role

A well-established small firm in Farnborough are looking for a qualified residential conveyancer to join them as a fee earner. This is a hands-on role running your own caseload from instruction through to completion – the kind of varied, quality-led work that gets squeezed out at the larger volume firms.

You'll work directly with clients, estate agents, and other professionals, supported by a close-knit team that values doing the job properly over chasing numbers.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a residential conveyancing caseload end-to-end – freehold, leasehold, new build, and shared ownership
  • Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, and other parties throughout each transaction
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, transfer deeds, and supporting documentation
  • Conducting property searches and reviewing title
  • Handling SDLT, AML and source-of-funds checks, and Land Registry submissions
  • Keeping clients clearly informed at every stage, and resolving issues as they arise
  • Maintaining accurate case records on our case management system

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA-regulated) or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx / Fellow CILEx)
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing
  • Confident running a caseload independently
  • Strong drafting, communication, and client-care skills
  • Solid IT skills and experience with conveyancing case management software
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities

Desirable

  • Experience across leasehold, new build, shared ownership, and Help to Buy
  • A local network across Surrey, Hampshire, or Berkshire
  • Familiarity with systems such as LEAP, Proclaim, Osprey, or Quill

Please note: this role is for a qualified fee earner. We're not considering paralegal-level applicants on this occasion.

What's on offer

  • Competitive salary of £50,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
  • A manageable caseload – quality over volume
  • Supportive, collegiate team in a friendly office environment
  • Career progression in a firm that invests in its people
