Prospero Teaching is pleased to be supporting a dedicated and nurturing SEMH school in the New Forest in their search for a resilient and passionate English Teacher to join them on a full-time, ongoing basis.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people who require additional social, emotional, and mental health support. The school provides a therapeutic, relationship-centred environment where staff work collaboratively to help students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve success-both academically and personally.
Delivering engaging and accessible English lessons up to GCSE level
Planning and adapting learning to meet a wide range of SEMH needs
Creating a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Using strong behaviour management and relational practice to maintain consistency
Supporting students' emotional regulation, resilience, and self-esteem
Working closely with pastoral staff, behaviour teams, and senior leaders
Contributing to a positive, trauma-informed school culture
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
Experience teaching English up to GCSE
SEMH or SEN experience is highly desirable, though a strong interest in this area is welcomed
Excellent behaviour management and the ability to build trust with learners
A calm, patient, and emotionally regulated approach
Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
