We are supporting a client in the appointment of an experienced HR Manager to join their organisation on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a HR manager role within a growing business of approximately 88–90 employees, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the full people agenda.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, the HR Manager will provide end-to-end generalist HR support, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees. The role will have a strong focus on UK employment law, employee relations, and supporting a diverse workforce, including employees from a range of international backgrounds.

Approximately 30% of the workforce holds right-to-work documentation linked to non-UK nationalities, making experience in managing right-to-work compliance and related documentation particularly important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR advice in line with UK employment law and best practice
  • Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence cases
  • Oversee right-to-work checks, visa compliance and associated record-keeping
  • Support and coach managers on effective people management
  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding and retention activity
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with data protection requirements
  • Promote an inclusive, compliant and positive workplace culture

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR Manager or standalone HR role
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience supporting a diverse and/or international workforce, including right-to-work compliance
  • Confident working autonomously in a small to medium-sized organisation
  • Practical, approachable and commercially minded
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
