Reed Accountancy is proud to be partnering with a business in Leeds that is seeking a Finance Assistant/Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team. This full-time, office-based role offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates and accountancy graduates looking to develop their careers.

You will work collaboratively within a supportive team, assisting with day-to-day transactional finance duties.

Duties:

  • Process supplier and purchase invoices in a timely manner
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Match, batch and code invoices
  • Prepare and process payment runs (BACS/cheques)
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts including journals and prepayments
  • Maintain up-to-date and well organised records
  • Assist with sales ledger duties
  • Support VAT returns

You will need to demonstrate:

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Some prior experience within an account’s role (desirable not essential)
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
