Hours: 37 hours per week (9:00am – 5:00pm, 4:30pm finish on Fridays)

Working Pattern: Hybrid – up to 2 days per week in the office

About the Role

Bath and North East Somerset Council are seeking an experienced HR Support Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality HR services, supporting organisational development and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support across a range of services
• Assist with organisational development and training initiatives
• Support the implementation and development of HR policies and procedures
• Work with HR systems and contribute to ongoing HR-related projects
• Provide clear, accurate advice on employment legislation and statutory requirements
• Communicate HR policies effectively to a variety of stakeholders and support managers with guidance

Requirements

• CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in HR Practice (or equivalent)
• Previous experience within HR support services
• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
• Experience using HR systems and supporting HR projects
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policy information clearly
• Ability to coach and guide others on HR and organisational development topics
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload effectively
