Executive and Governance Administrator

Up to £29,500

Fixed Term Contract until August 2027/ Full Time

Stevenage with Hybrid Working

At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible. We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.

What you’ll be doing

As our Executive and Governance Administrator, you’ll play a key role in supporting senior leaders and governance activity across the IET.

You’ll manage complex diaries, coordinate meetings and organise travel, ensuring Executive Directors and senior volunteers can operate effectively and focus on what matters most. You’ll be someone who can bring clarity to busy schedules, make confident decisions on priorities and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

You’ll also support governance processes, helping to prepare and circulate high-quality papers, coordinate Board and committee activity, and ensure meetings are well organised and professionally delivered. From agendas and logistics through to minutes and action tracking, you’ll be central to making sure everything is accurate, timely and well-managed.

Working as part of a shared service team, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality support. You’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, presenting a professional, calm and confident approach at all times.

This is a role where attention to detail really matters. You’ll maintain accurate records, handle confidential information with care and ensure governance processes are followed correctly.

Please note, this role is a Fixed Term Contract until August 2027.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We’re looking for someone with experience supporting senior leaders, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes complex environment.

You’ll be highly organised, with strong diary management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while staying calm and focused. You’ll know how to bring structure to busy schedules and make decisions that keep things moving.

You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, able to communicate clearly and professionally while building strong, trusted relationships. You’ll also be comfortable working with governance processes, or keen to develop your experience in this area.

Attention to detail will be one of your strengths, alongside the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Most importantly, you’ll be proactive and dependable; someone who takes ownership, works collaboratively and delivers a consistently high standard of support.

We’d love to get to know you

Is Imposter syndrome creeping in? Don’t worry – we’d rather hear from you this time than not hear from you at all! Read on for a little more information about the role; but also, keep in mind that we’re open to discussing flexible ways of working, including reduced hours and working in an agile way, supported by a hybrid working framework that allows you to find the best place to do your best work.
