Key Responsibilities
1. Security & Incident Management
• Conduct routine patrols to detect, deter, and prevent security threats.
• Control access to sites, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding promptly to security breaches.
• Conduct bag and vehicle searches when required, following legal guidelines.
• Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and secu-rity breaches, ensuring appropriate escalation.
• Maintain clear and accurate incident reports and logs.
2. Use of Force & Conflict Management
• Apply knowledge of UK Use of Force laws in line with Section 3 of the Criminal Law Act 1967 and Common Law to ensure reasonable and proportionate actions.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts and prevent physical confronta-tions.
• If required, apply physical intervention techniques in accordance with SIA-approved training and within the boundaries of UK law.
• Work closely with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
3. Customer Service & Professionalism
• Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining security protocols.
• Assist members of the public with general inquiries, ensuring a professional and ap-proachable demeanor.
• Uphold company and client values, always demonstrating integrity and reliability.
4. Compliance & Legal Requirements
• Ensure full compliance with SIA licensing conditions, ACS standards, and GDPR reg-ulations.
• Follow site-specific Assignment Instructions (AIs) and risk assessments.
• Adhere to BS 7858 screening and vetting requirements.
• Keep up to date with security legislation and best practices, including counter-terror-ism awareness (ACT training).
5. Health & Safety
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to HSE regulations and site-specific safety policies.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
• Be trained in emergency first aid and help if required.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Must hold a valid SIA license (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor).
• Strong understanding of UK Use of Force laws and conflict resolution techniques.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally.
• Excellent communication and observational skills.
• Experience in incident reporting, access control, and patrol duties.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
