Training and Development Officer (Part-Time)

Location: Leicester
Salary: £28,860 pro rata
Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term – 2 years

About the Role

An established Leicester-based charity is seeking a passionate and experienced Training and Development Officer to support the delivery of an innovative programme focused on advancing recovery support for women affected by gambling-related harms.

This role will be central to designing and delivering culturally sensitive training and resources, aimed at improving awareness, understanding, and referral pathways among professionals and community stakeholders. You will play a key part in supporting more inclusive access to recovery services for women from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging, culturally responsive training workshops and toolkits addressing gambling-related harms
  • Deliver training to a range of organisations, including health, social care, and community partners
  • Support a “train the trainer” approach to equip professionals, volunteers, and community representatives with knowledge and confidence to raise awareness
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support collaboration and outreach
  • Gather insights on emerging needs, trends, and barriers affecting women experiencing gambling harms
  • Promote awareness of support pathways and signpost to appropriate services

Marketing and Engagement

  • Support the promotion of programme activities, including workshops and events
  • Engage with community and faith groups to raise awareness and encourage participation

Training and Development

  • Participate fully in induction, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Attend regular supervision and annual appraisal
  • Contribute to organisational targets and programme outcomes

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience of developing and delivering training programmes
  • Strong understanding of community engagement and partnership working
  • Knowledge or interest in addiction, recovery, or related social issues
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
