Medical Receptionist - NHS GP Practice
Central London Permanent | Full-time (37.5 hrs/week) | Part-time considered
Salary: £13.85 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Benefits: 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays

About the role

Our client is a busy, friendly NHS GP practice in Central London caring for a large and diverse patient population. They are looking for an enthusiastic medical receptionist to join our welcoming front-of-house team. This is a patient-facing reception role and you will be the first point of contact for our patients. The focus of the position is delivering an excellent reception service. This is not an administrative role.

What you will be doing

• Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice in a warm and professional manner
• Managing a busy reception desk and telephone line
• Booking, amending and cancelling patient appointments
• Handling patient queries and directing them to the right services
• Processing prescription requests at the front desk
• Maintaining a calm, efficient and friendly reception environment throughout the day

What we are looking for

• Experience working in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment
• A highly motivated, can-do attitude with the ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• NHS or GP practice experience is essential
• Experience of using EMIS
