We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to join Staffline in a senior finance role, playing a key part in driving financial insight, forecasting rigour, and value creation across our customer portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to operate at a strategic level within a fast-paced, multi-site organisation.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, lead key commercial initiatives, and act as a deputy to the Commercial Director—offering real visibility and influence within the organisation.

What you’ll do as a Commercial Manager

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted commercial partner to both Finance and Operations, supporting performance and shaping strategic direction across the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing senior commercial finance leadership across customer and contract performance, with a focus on margin optimisation and value protection
  • Monitoring profitability across clients, sectors, and teams, identifying margin leakage and implementing corrective actions
  • Leading forecasting processes, delivering accurate rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and actionable insights
  • Partnering with Operational Leadership and the Commercial Director to develop and implement revenue growth strategies
  • Analysing sales performance, pipelines, and market trends, reporting on key metrics such as revenue, GP, and margin
  • Developing dashboards and commercial reporting frameworks to support decision-making
  • Reviewing and challenging commercial assumptions, pricing models, and cost drivers across new business and contract changes
  • Acting as a trusted adviser, translating complex financial data into clear, commercial recommendations
  • Supporting and leading customer meetings relating to commercial performance and contract governance
  • Preparing and presenting customer financial packs and performance reviews to senior stakeholders

What skills you’ll develop as a Commercial Manager

  • Strategic financial planning and forecasting in a complex, multi-site environment
  • Commercial modelling, pricing strategy, and contract evaluation
  • Senior stakeholder engagement and influencing at executive level
  • Leadership and development of analytical teams
  • Advanced data analysis and insight generation using tools such as Power BI and Excel
  • Translating data into actionable strategies that drive revenue and profitability
  • Risk management, governance, and audit-ready reporting
  • Continuous improvement of commercial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience operating in a senior commercial or commercial finance role
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Strong experience in forecasting, financial analysis, and performance review
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior leaders
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to influence decision-making
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-site or fast-paced environment
  • Desirable:
  • Line management experience, with the ability to coach and develop others
  • Strong data analytics capability (Power BI, Excel Cubed, Microsoft tools)
  • Experience within recruitment, workforce solutions, or labour-intensive environments
  • Experience with commercial contracts, pricing, and tender processes
