Chef – Dover Truck Stop

£14.50 per hour (£30,160 per annum)

Full-time | 5 days per week

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Chef to join a busy and well-established truck stop restaurant in Dover. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and reliable chef to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, delivering high-quality meals to a steady flow of customers.

The Role

As a Chef, you will be responsible for running the kitchen during your shift, preparing freshly cooked meals to order, and supporting the Head Chef in maintaining high standards and smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent, high standard
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Follow recipes and adhere to food safety standards
  • Support the management of the kitchen team during service
  • Receive deliveries and ensure proper stock rotation
  • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety practices (HACCP, COSHH, allergens)
  • Ensure presentation and quality standards are always met

Working Hours

  • 5 days per week
  • 9-hour shifts
  • Shifts scheduled between:
    • 6:00am – 10:00pm (Mon–Sat)
    • 7:30am – 10:00pm (Sunday rota)

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience (ideally 2 years+)
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
