Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy and supportive HR team on a temporary ongoing basis, with the intention of the role becoming permanent. This is a generalist HR position, providing day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees across the organisation.

The successful candidate will be confident operating at advisory level and comfortable managing core HR activities, particularly employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees in line with employment legislation and company policies
  • Manage a varied employee relations caseload, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance and performance matters
  • Support managers with sickness absence, return-to-work processes, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including issuing contracts, offer letters and onboarding documentation
  • Support probationary periods, contract changes and leaver processes
  • Ensure HR records are kept accurate and up to date on the HR system
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as required by the wider HR team
  • Promote best practice and a consistent approach to people management across the organisation

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor or strong HR Officer role
  • Solid working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience handling employee relations cases end to end
  • Confident communicator, able to advise and influence managers at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and manage competing priorities

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification or working towards (Level 3 or 5)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or changing environment
  • Previous experience in a hybrid working environment
