Part time Accounts Assistant

Reed Accountancy are excited to be partnering with a well-established global organisation as they seek a part-time Accounts Assistant to join their team for 16-18 hours per week and support the finance function across purchase ledger, sales ledger, and month-end accounting. 

Working as part of a small and supportive team, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys being involved across multiple areas of finance and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.

The position is largely transactional with some month end duties and operates using Xero.  A key part of the role will be reviewing and ensuring postings are accurate and correctly allocated within the ledger. The business works with both GBP and EUR, so exposure to multi-currency environments will be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices and managing the purchase ledger (circa 60 invoices at any one time)
  • Raising sales invoices and monitoring incoming payments
  • Supporting credit control activities and resolving invoice and payment queries
  • Reconciling bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts
  • Supporting the month-end process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and basic tax analysis
  • Supporting staff cost analysis and preparing data for reporting, including working with pivot tables
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with audit preparation
  • Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders as required

You will work closely with the Finance Manager, who will provide guidance and support—this is very much a collaborative environment rather than a standalone role. Working pattern can be 3 to 4 days per week and the company offer a hybrid model with at least 2 days in the office.
