About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and strategic Procurement Lead to establish and deliver a high-performing procurement function across a growing education Trust.

This is a brand-new role with real scope to shape and influence how spend, contracts, and supplier relationships are managed. You’ll play a key role in ensuring value for money, compliance, and strong commercial governance across all procurement activity, directly supporting better outcomes for children and young people.

You will work closely with the CFO, school leaders, and budget holders to:

  • Develop and implement a Trust-wide procurement strategy
  • Lead compliant tender processes across a variety of categories (ICT, estates, catering, etc.)
  • Embed effective contract management and supplier performance monitoring
  • Identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities
  • Strengthen systems, controls, and procurement capability across the Trust

About You

We’re looking for someone who can confidently operate in a public-sector or education environment, combining commercial thinking with a strong understanding of governance and compliance.

You will have:

  • Experience leading procurement or sourcing activities within a public-sector, education, or multi-site organisation
  • A strong understanding of procurement regulations, frameworks, and best practice
  • Proven experience managing tenders and supplier relationships
  • The ability to analyse spend, challenge decisions, and drive value for money
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders

CIPS qualification (or working towards) and experience in a MAT or school setting would be advantageous.
