Senior Recruitment Consultant

Location: Birmingham City Centre
Salary: Up to £36,000 basic (dependent on experience) + uncapped bonus
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week


The Opportunity

Reed Birmingham is expanding its Sales Division and looking for a commercially driven Recruitment Consultant to manage and grow a regional desk across the West Midlands.


This role will suit professionals who thrive on building long-term client relationships, winning new business, and partnering with organisations/clients. Whether you’re an experienced recruiter or a successful B2B sales professional, this is an opportunity to leverage your market knowledge, consultative selling skills, and commercial mindset in a high-performing, well-established team.

We’re particularly keen to hear from:

  • Recruitment Consultants with experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or product-led markets

  • B2B Sales or Business Development professionals who have sold products and services and are looking to move into a consultative, relationship-led career within recruitment

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing a recruitment desk the sales sector

  • Building long-term, trusted relationships with clients who sell products into their markets

  • Winning and prospecting for new business and expanding existing client relationships through consultative sales

  • Managing the full recruitment lifecycle from briefing through to placement

  • Developing a strong pipeline of high-quality candidates

  • Collaborating with colleagues across specialties to identify cross-sell opportunities

  • Delivering market insight and tailored recruitment solutions to clients


About You

We’re keen to speak with individuals from the following backgrounds:

  • Experienced 360 recruitment consultants, ideally within engineering, manufacturing or technical sectors

  • Sales / Business Development professionals

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills

  • Confidence operating in a regional, field-based role

  • A consultative, professional sales approach
